.: General Rules:.

1. No disrespect, neither towards your fellow contestants nor your judges. This includes flaming, chain messages, general bitching and etc.

2. Respect the judges. You are at their mercy.  And remember, they are people too, and should be treated as such. If they take a bit longer to judge something an expected, well, please just wait.

3. If you want to affiliate, go right ahead!

4. Please do not start auditions until all of the refs and layouts are posted. Otherwise you will get something wrong, and you will be sad.

5. Swearing, blood, gore are allowed but please keep them at the low level. Not all people are fine with them.

6. Drama should be handled privately. If you have issues with another contestant or judge, please note us so we can help you get it sorted out.  

7. Please, use common sense!



.:Rules about characters:.

1. Only original characters
This is Original Character Tournament so no fan characters. Original characters are characters which are created by you only, without relation to any sort of a fandom.

2. No godmode or invincible characters
This one is pretty self explanatory. A god mode character is, of course, a character that is godly in actions and abilities. They're super hard to kill or injure, and yet can destroy someone without breaking a sweat. So obviously they are boring as hell.

3. No Mary-Sues
"A Mary Sue (sometimes just Sue), in fanfiction, is a fictional character with overly idealized and hackneyed mannerisms, lacking noteworthy flaws, and primarily functioning as a wish-fulfillment fantasy for the author or reader". These characters are frowned upon and despised by most, so don't expect in if you audition with one. If you aren't sure about your character, why don't you try out the Mary Sue Litmus Test?

4. Characters do not have to be human
Chromatica city is visited by a lot of different creatures from a lot of different worlds, so it wouldn't be fair if only human-types could enter. Of course, humans are also allowed.

5. Follow audition guidelines
Before doing something make sure you have read audition guidelines carefully. They may contain some specific conditions.



.:Misc:.

1. Entries need to be in BY THE DEADLINE. Each round will be at least a month long, not including extentions. But fret not; there will be a grace period.

2. You can ask for extensions but we will not grant them if it's only one person who needs them. We will usually post polls asking contestants if they would like an extension.

3. Please send your auditions and rounds in a note. Dont submit to the groups gallery.

4. Spectator entries are definitely allowed.

5. Please use a mature content warning if your entry is above PG-13

6. Have fun! Make friends! Don't take OCT's to seriously. School/college/university/work comes first!
